Volunteer

Santa Clara Valley is always looking for volunteers to participate in our organization on committees for a year or to assist with events and projects for a shorter period of time. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us and we will help find the right place for you depending on your skills, interests and time availability.

Below are some of the particular areas we are looking for volunteers.

Accreditation Committee: we need members for this committee for this year. This committee works to raise the awareness of the importance of high quality, early childhood programs throughout Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties while recognizing and celebrating early childhood programs and professional preparation programs achieving NAEYC Accreditation.

Web Technologies & Communications Committee: we need members for this committee for this year. This committee updates our website, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter pages, and coordinates our bi-monthly e-newsletter.

Public Policy Committee: this committee informs the Peninsula AEYC’s Governing board and general membership of public policy issues both local and national which affect the education and well being of young children and their families.

Family Childcare Committee: this committee under the direction of the VP of Membership, informs the board and general membership of family childcare issues. The members of the committee become active in the local family childcare networks so they can act as a liaison for Peninsula AEYC.

Membership Committee: this committee welcomes all new members by sending a welcome letter, receives all membership applications and process forms, keep membership list current and provide a copy of all who ask at the Board Meetings, provide mailing labels, update and order NAEYC flyers.

MOYC Committee: this committee, under the direction of the VP of Support and Services, represents PAEYC at the City of San Jose’s MOYC planning committee meetings (TBD).  The committee makes monthly reports to the board at the PAEYC general membership meetings. This committee helps plan and implement events during MOYC.
