Topic: The ADA and ECE
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law which was passed in
1990. Among other things, this law prohibits discrimination by child care centers and
family child care providers against individuals with disabilities (including children,
parents, and employees).
This seminar will provide a general overview of the ADA and its requirements, as well as a
discussion of how child care providers can ensure that they are complying with this law.
