2010 CAEYC Conference & Expo

2010 Special Events

CAEYC is proud to host two exciting days of Special Events for conference attendees! Special event prices are non-refundable and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Transportation via bus is included. Capacity is limited and registration may only be made on-line.

Hundred Languages of Children and Skirball Cultural Center
Experience two dynamic exhibits that will take you to a magical place of wonder. Your first stop will be to the Hundred Languages of Children exhibit in Santa Monica. The evening will conclude at the Skirball Cultural Center to view their brand new exhibit Monsters and Miracles: A Journey through Jewish Picture Books as well as the Noah’s Ark exhibit. Enjoy light appetizers and a no-host bar.

Attendees must be registered for the Full Conference (Thursday, Friday, & Saturday) in order to take advantage of this special event.
Special Event price: $100/person

Hundred Languages of Children - The Hundred Languages of Children is a continuously updated traveling exhibition that, translated into various languages, has been telling the story of the Reggio educational experience worldwide to thousands of visitors for over 25 years. The newest North American version of the exhibit is titled "The Wonder of Learning - The Hundred Languages of Children" and is composed of seven multimedia/multi-sensory sections. SkirballSkirball Cultural Center will be opening their brand new exhibit Monsters and Miracles: A Journey through Jewish Picture Books. This engaging and whimsical new exhibition explores the cultural roots of the Jewish picture books and celebrates the joy of reading. Displaying over a hundred original artworks, the exhibition features the art of popular favorites like Arthur Lobel, Daniel Pinkwater, Francine Prose, Maurice Sendak, Isaac Bashevis Singer, Lemony Snicket, Art Spiegelman, and William Steig, as well as such luminaries as Marc Chagall, El Lissitzky, Ze'ev Raban, and Lasar Segall. In addition, attendees of this special event will have access to the Noah's Ark Exhibit which is inspired by the ancient flood story. More Information...

Pretend City Children's MuseumPretend City Children’s Museum
Get ready for an amazing adventure filled with imagination and play. Pretend City is a community which builds better brains through fun, whole body learning experiences and empowers children and their grown-ups to meaningfully connect with and expand their world. Our tour attendees will have the opportunity to experience many professions as part of the Pretend City community. The opportunity for dress-up and role-playing are key components of education and fun at Pretend City! More Information...

Hotel Accommodations
